Abbotsford is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is part of the Wausau, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,956 at the 2000 census. Abbotsford is located in both Clark and Marathon Counties. Abbotsford is nicknamed is "Wisconsin's First City" due to its alphabetical place on a list of Wisconsin cities.[1]
